Copeland Harris Marks (1921-1999) was born in Burlington, VT. He received a degree in agriculture from the University of Vermont, served in World War II, and after eight years in the Foreign Service, began an import-export business for textiles and works of art. To this end, he spent time in Mexico, Guatemala, India and South Africa. He later settled in Brooklyn Heights, NY, and began writing international cuisine cookbooks. Marks did not marry and had no children. |
Scope & Content |
This collection consists of color slides taken in Guatemala, mainly of local textiles and costumes, labeled and organized by town. There are also a small number of slides taken in Korea. |
