Radiocarbon Dates Association, a non-profit corporation based in Braintree, MA, was established in 1958 by Frederick Johnson (President) and Doug Byers (Secretary-Treasurer). The corporation published cards bearing radiocarbon dating samples from participating labs around the world, that were sent to subscribers. |
Scope & Content |
These cards give the location of origin of the sample, both the town and the latitude and longitude, the type of sample, laboratory, date, who collected and submitted it, and in which publication it was cited. Each card also has a serial number. The cards are mostly stored in card catalogs, whose individual drawers are labeled "geology" or "archaeology" and then are organized geographically (continent, region or country). |
