Description |
One red feather and bamboo Bolivian armband (or chicana). Parrot and other avian feather mosaic on 43 reed tubes 6'X1/2' each with cord wrappings and joined by two cotton cords which pass through each reed. There are geometric motifs along the edge in blue, yellow, black, green, and red feathers. 'JOSE NINA' is written in blue feathers along the top edge of the armband. The feathers are sewn to the bamboo by twine, some dyed yellow, orange, green, and pink. There are some loose feathers hanging from the bottom of the armband. Chicana. Aymara Culture. |
